My hair is already coloured using a product containing ammonia and peroxide. Can I use Natural Colours?

Yes! Daniel Field Natural Colours can be used safely over most other hair colourant products with the exception of henna, metallic dyes and colour restorers. If you have previously used a hair colourant which contains Ammonia and Hydrogen Peroxide, you hair may be more porous and can "grab" the pigments in Natural Colours very quickly, so be sure to perform the strand test first to establish the right timings for your desired result.

I have Highlights in my hair which look brassy and over-processed. Can I use Natural Colours to tone them down?

Definitely! You can use Natural Colours to tone over-bright highlights to richer, warmer shades whilst retaining the effect. Simply choose a shade or two lighter than your base colour. Do the strand test outlined in the instruction leaflet to establish exact timings for the result you require. Not only will you restore your colour, your hair will feel great afterwards too! This method works well for other colour correction problems too!

Is Daniel field Natural Colours Permanent?

Natural Colours lasts as long as you require! Applied to clean, bone dry hair its permanent and covers up to 100% grey. If you have a tiny sprinkling of grey or just fancy a temporary, enriching colour and conditioning treatment, you can apply it to towel dried hair for a result which will last up to 21 washes. Applied to damp hair it will act like a "Semi permanent" and last for up to six washes, it won't cover grey this way though.

Can I use Natural Colours to lighten my hair?

No, Daniel Field Natural Colours is free from Ammonia and Hydrogen Peroxide which it means it cannot lighten hair at all during the colouring process. Daniel Field Natural Lights is perfect for adding highlights and you can use it with Natural Colours to create stunning effects. Take a look at our Style Files to see the results.

I haven't used Natural Colours before. Which shade should I select?

As Natural Colours is Ammonia and Hydrogen Peroxide free it doesn't strip any of your base colour. It adds colour, working with the tones and highlights already present in the hair. So if you have up to 50% Grey you wish to cover, we recommend that you choose a colour which is one or two shades lighter than your existing colour to blend the grey away.

Please note that if you have completely white hair, the result is likely to be 2 shades lighter e.g. applying Darkest Brown will result in a rich natural brown. Our shade chart shows the results on white hair and 50% grey hair after 45 minutes development time. You can also vary the depth and intensity of the result by adjusting your timings, so always perform the strand test described in the instruction leaflet before performing a full head application.

How do I deal with regrowth?

Its advisable to apply to the root area only when dealing with regrowth to prevent colour build up or over-darkening your hair. You will find full instructions on how to do this in the instruction leaflet which comes with Natural Colours. Get a friend to help as root application is easier with an extra pair of hands. if the lengths of your hair have faded, apply here for the last 5 -10 minutes to freshen them up.

Can I use Natural Colours even though I have no greys?

Of Course! Natural Colours is suitable for all hair types and adds warmth and vibrant shiny colour no matter what your base colour is. As it is free from Ammonia and Hydrogen peroxide it doesn't damage or alter the hair strands in any way, in fact unlike traditional Permanent colourants, it is a very effective conditioning treatment.
